CRIME PREVENTION GIVEN BY A POLICEMAN

This is not any complaint from victims or witnesses about vandalism. This is an advice on how to prevent vandalism by a young police officer who is working at a neighbourhood police post. He had handled a lot of complaints on vandalism and he has some piece of advice to share with us.

"I feel that vandalism can be prevented by taking care of your belonging properly. For example,set an alarm for your car. Any vandalism occured can cause the alarm to be triggered. Taking care of your estate would be harder but what i can suggest,is to put up security camera's to monitor the activites in your estate. We know that it is a Policeman’s job to make sure such things won't happen.But we're trying our best to prevent vandalism & other crimes to happen.

Having good neighbours around would help to increase vandalising awareness of your belongings.So,with them around,it would make your Cars or even estate buildings more safer from vandalizers"

CAR VANDALISM

This was another complaint about car vandalism by Mr.Loo who is residing in BLK 12. 
Apparently, Mr. Loo was the victim of the car vandalism.
Mr. Loo is a vain person who speaks rather fast and remember only the fashion side of things. Let's see what he had to say about the crime.


"I was getting a new hairdo and talking on my phone as usual. suddenly, i heard a loud crash. I was like "oh my god" and i looked out like anybody would do. everybody seemed to rush out and i followed suit. den i was like shocked cos i saw my pink lamborghini scratched and the windscreen was smashed severely. There was even spraypaint all over the coat! Then i was like "What the !@#$" i had to rush to the next sales which i have been planning to go to. Argh. Now i had to miss my trip down to the bloody sales.

I wondered who the hell did that because i had done nobody wrong. Are they like jealous of my car? I called the cops and till now there is not any news of the vandals. I was apparantly disappointed with the security in such a well developed country. i think that the citizens should learn to be mor matured and civilised. How would they feel should i do it to them? With everybody matured and civilised. The world would be like such a better place."

CAR VANDALISM

This was a complaint from Ms Tan residing in Blk 3. A student from RP, who witnessed a car vandalism two months ago. She was too afraid to speak about it because she was afraid of being attacked.
This was what she had to say about the incident.


"I had seen a vandalising of a car by an unknown stranger last month, but I was afraid to voice out as I was afraid the stranger would attack me. My dad also has a car which is parked at the same car park but different level and I am afraid my father would be a victim of this crime.

Therefore, I decided to speak up on this incident as I feel it met be helpful towards assisting the police in providing information on the stranger I saw.
The man was a Dark and lean. He had short hair and short beard. He looks like a Chinese.
The man looks like a man in his mid-age."

BLOCK VANDALISM

This was a complaint given to me by Mrs Vejaya who is residing in Blk 7. Mrs Vejaya is natually a quiet person, married and a mother of 2 kids. Recently, she witnessed a vandalism at her block. This was what she had to say.

"Last night about 11.25pm, I was coming back home from work, very shacked. Usually, I will take the lift to reach my house, which is at the 4th floor. I would say that it was all a coincidence that I chose to climb the stairs. When I was climbing the stairs, I witnessed 2 men dressed in polo-tees and jeans, spraying the walls in red. "O $ P $, #3-***". I was stunned to witness such behaviour. I realised that they were loan sharks vandalising the walls asking one of my neighbour to pay up.
Apparently, they were Chinese and medium built. They were tall and looked very familiar. When they caught me peeping at their vandalism, they immediately ran away, climbing up the stairs.
This is actually the second time witnessing such vandalism. Just last week, the construction workers just finished painting our flats and this had to happen. I am very annoyed at these barbaric acts by the loan sharks. This need to really stop. I am afraid of reporting about this act to the police because naturally I am a very quiet person and I do not want to get into trouble as the loan sharks seemed to look very fierce."

VANDALISM

VANDALISM, known as the malicious and defacement of comebody else's property.

Vandalism can be in any forms such as writing, drawing, painting, marking or inscribing on any public property or private property.
Penalities of Vandalism: Any person who commits any act of vandalism, they will be convicted to a fine not exceeding $2000 or to imprisonment for a term not more than 3 years and shall also, subject to section 231 of the Criminal Procedure Code, be punished with caning with not less than 3 strokes and not more than 8 strokes.
So residents, do not hesitate.
